ZOLVIX monepantel

ZOLVIX contains a breakthrough new molecule – monepantel – the first molecule from the newly discovered Amino-Acetonitrile Derivative class (AADs).

Not content with discovering the new AAD class, Novartis Animal Health researchers conducted rigorous tests into over 700 AAD compounds to find one that delivered optimal efficacy and safety, plus most critically, maximum performance against resistant and multi-resistant nematodes.

By harnessing the power of monepantel, ZOLVIX offers unparalleled efficacy against all major sheep worms, including those resistant to other, existing classes of drench.

Monepantel works differently from all other anthelmintics – using a unique mode of action that paralyses worms by attacking a previously undiscovered receptor - Hco-MPTL-1 - only present in nematodes. Its unique mode of action is key to making ZOLVIX such an important advance.
